You can find Winamac, Indiana on any map. Drive north on 35, and Tippecanoe will be on your right (East) within a couple of miles The Horsemen's Cam has 46 primitive sites. There is plenty of shade, hitching posts, water every few campsites, a playground, and a new day use area. They have vault toilets at this time, but there are rumors floating around about future plans for a modern bathroom with showers. The hitching posts have horizontal pieces made out of metal pipe instead of wood. It keeps the horses from chewing. The campground has gravel parking pads and sites on each side of the road. There are over 12 miles of trails that wind through the woods, you will see deer, and may wish to climb the fire tower. Half of the trails are sandy, and the other half are sometimes muddy; but that only happens after a rain. Another nasty thing that happens after lots of rain is the voracious mosquitoes that attack in incredible numbers! The trails wind around and connect to each other in such a fashion that you seldom see other riders even though the campground is full. The terrain is mainly flat with a few small hills which makes it a nice place to ride with younger children. The DNR people will come around sometime in the evening to collect for camping, just drive in and get a spot. There are other attractions in the park such as hiking trails, boating, fishing, and a group camping area. Swimming is available at nearby Bass Lake. By all means, try riding at Tippecanoe.
